What Is Examined in the Edexcel A Level Business Paper 3?

  • This paper is focused on all four themes studied throughout the course
  • All questions are based on the industry or market broad context provided in pre-release material issued prior to the exam
    • You are given a list of suggestions for areas to research
    • You cannot take any research or investigation data carried out as part of the pre-release into the examination
  • The paper's duration is two hours
  • The total number of marks available is 100
  • Paper 3 represents 30% of the qualification total

  • Paper 3 is made up of two sections

Section A

  • Further unseen quantitative and qualitative stimulus materials related to the industry or market’s broad context are provided at the start of Section A
  • Section A contains Question 1
  • Question 1 consists of four sub-questions
    • One 8-mark assess question
    • One 10-mark assess question
    • One 12-mark assess question
    • One 20-mark evaluate question
  • You must answer all questions

Section B

  • Further unseen quantitative and qualitative stimulus materials related to at least one strand within the context provided, such as a particular business
  • Section B contains Question 2 
  • Question 2 consists of four sub-questions 
    • One 8-mark assess question
    • One 10-mark assess question
    • One 12-mark assess question
    • One 20-mark evaluate question
  • You must answer all questions
