Education and work

  • Nadia studied English Literature at Birmingham City University, graduating in 2011, and received her teaching qualification, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in English and Drama, from The University of Warwick in 2013. She taught in secondary schools across Birmingham for four years and then moved to Further Education colleges, where she gained experience as an English Lecturer across a range of levels before moving into her current role Curriculum Lead for English.

  • Nadia has been nominated for several awards by her learners, including Spotlight on Great Teaching Awards for "Inspirational Teaching" and "Outstanding Feedback".

  • Nadia has used her passion for her subject and her students to improve outcomes for a range of learners. Throughout her extensive career in education, she has managed the development of key initiatives from the planning stages to the finished project. She has worked across other departments, both academic and vocational, to embed literacy strategies and share resources for contextualisation and inclusion. She is skilled in the planning and delivery of effective lessons and has adapted teaching methods to cater for diverse learning needs to create a positive and engaging environment. She has experience in designing curriculum, selecting appropriate materials, and aligning lessons with educational standards.
