Education and Teaching experience

  • After graduating from the University of Cambridge, Joanna completed her PGCE and Masters in Education at Loughborough University. She has taught Physics for over a decade, with more than 8 years as a Head of Department and STEM Co-ordinator. She is also an experienced physics tutor including for Oxbridge entrance examinations.

Professional Experience

  • Joanna is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching (FCCT) and a Chartered Science Teacher (CSciTeach). She sits on the Education Group, Research Group and Regional Committee for the Association for Science Education which looks at strategic development and response to the national education agenda for science. Joanna is a primary school governor and a university lead mentor for trainees at the National Institute of Teaching and Education. Joanna has also worked as an examiner for Edexcel.

Published articles

  • Joanna has authored for various journals including SSR in practice and Education in Chemistry. She completed a dissertation on the use of social media in education, and is currently working on her PhD in Education. She speaks regularly at education conferences and contributes to online CPD for teachers.
