Alexandra Brennan

About

• Alex has been with Save My Exams since 2022, and works as a Senior Content Creator in the chemistry team. She has a passion for creating engaging and concise revision materials, including videos which allow students to reach their full potential.

• Prior to Save My Exams, she worked in secondary schools for ten years as a chemistry teacher, progressing to Head of Chemistry and subsequently Head of Science, improving outcomes for hundreds of students in their GCSEs and A levels.

• During her teaching career, she was part of the Outstanding Teacher Programme, helping other teachers enhance their classroom practice to improve exam results and has successfully mentored several trainee and newly qualified science teachers. She has organised and delivered GCSE revision boot camps to borderline students during in the lead up to exams.

• Alex has been an examiner for Edexcel and AQA GCSE chemistry for several years. She now focuses on AQA Chemistry, using her expertise to help students refine their exam technique.

• Alex has worked as a science and chemistry tutor since 2017 and recently established her own tutoring company. Alongside this, she launched her own TikTok channel ‘chem.with.bren’ where she shares chemistry specific GCSE exam and revision tips as well as model answers.

• In her spare time, she is an avid runner, and has completed several marathons and ultramarathons, although she now likes to stick to shorter distances and can usually be found at the nearest parkrun on a Saturday morning.

Education

• Alex graduated from Newcastle University with a BSc Honours degree in Biochemistry. She completed her PGCE in Secondary Science at Edge Hill University.
